At Flippin Goodies, every pre-owned piece earns its place. Before anything is listed, it passes a rigorous authentication and curation process — because provenance isn't a footnote, it's the foundation.
How We Authenticate
Each piece undergoes a multi-point review before listing. We examine what separates genuine craftsmanship from imitation:
- Hardware & construction — weight, finish, engravings, and stitching evaluated against house standards
- Materials & texture — leather grain, canvas coatings, lining fabrics, and alloys verified by hand
- Date codes & serial numbers — cross-referenced with verified production records for the relevant maison and era
- Provenance documentation — receipts, dust bags, box sets, and care booklets catalogued where present
- Brand-specific tells — logo typefaces, stampings, and interior markings checked against authenticated reference archives
Items that pass receive a Certificate of Authenticity with every purchase. Items that don't are never listed — no exceptions.
Our Condition Grading Scale
We grade every item on a five-tier scale and photograph all wear in detail. What you see is exactly what you receive.
- Pristine (New / Never Used) — Original tags, zero use. Typically includes full set: box, dust bag, and papers.
- Excellent — Lightly carried, immaculate interior, no structural wear. Faintest handling marks visible only under direct light.
- Very Good — Light surface wear from careful use. Hardware may show minor brushing; corners and base remain clean.
- Good — Visible scuffs, patina, or hardware oxidation — noted and photographed in full.
- Fair — Significant wear or a specific flaw, explicitly disclosed and priced accordingly. Structurally sound and fully authentic.
We grade conservatively. We'd rather over-disclose than leave you with a surprise.
Sourcing & Provenance
Our inventory is curated, not aggregated. We source directly from private collectors, estate sales, and a trusted consignor network built through years of relationship-first commerce — never from liquidators or unseen auction lots.
Before any piece enters our collection, we verify its history: who carried it, where it was purchased, how it was stored. Original receipts travel with the item. That's not paperwork — it's the story of the piece, and it belongs with you.
Our Authenticity Guarantee
We stand behind every item we sell, unconditionally.
- Lifetime authenticity guarantee — if the originating maison ever determines an item to be inauthentic, we issue a full refund. No time limit.
- Condition accuracy guarantee — if what arrives differs materially from the listed grade, contact us within 3 days for a full return and refund.
- White-glove communication — every authenticity or condition question is answered personally. No scripts.
